Total E&P Bulgaria organised open days in Varna and Burgas

Khan Asparuh exploration presented to the Black Sea local communities

Total E&P Bulgaria introduced its exploration project in the Khan Asparuh Block in the two main Bulgarian coastal cities – Varna and Burgas – during specially organised open days. Mr Xavier Faugeras, General Manager, together with his team presented the plans for drilling the first exploration well to the local authorities, business and media by providing details regarding the execution of the project.

Local community engagement

Total E&P Bulgaria also organised corporate stands in each city to meet with the general public. During the open days Mr Faugeras shared: “I am glad to present this campaign to the people of Varna and Burgas and to engage the local communities as this project is first of its kind in Bulgarian waters. If hydrocarbons are found, this could be beneficial to the energy diversification of the whole country, and to Varna and Burgas regions in particular”.

Drilling and safety

Mr Faugeras announced that the drilling of the first deep offshore exploration well is planned to start in the first half of 2016. The logistics operation will be carried from the port of Varna bringing new opportunities for the area.
